("Hygglo", "we", "us" or "our"), a subsidiary of the Swedish company Hygglo AB, collects, uses, shares and otherwise handles personal information when you use hygglo.com/us, our mobile apps and related services (together, the "Service"). It applies to users of the Service in the United States. This Privacy Policy forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Use. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Use.

Transactions: bookings, rental history, payment and payout information and, where required, tax information. Card details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

Reviews and ratings you leave for other users.
Information collected automatically. This includes device and browser information, IP address, approximate location, pages and features used, referring links, crash and error logs, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
Information from others. This includes our payment processor, identity verification and fraud-prevention providers, third-party services you use to log in, other users (for example reviews, messages and reports), and analytics and advertising partners.
- How we use information
We use personal information to:
provide, operate and maintain the Service, including facilitating rentals, payments, payouts and guarantee claims;
verify identity, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Service safe and enforce our Terms of Use;
communicate with you, including service messages and customer support;
send marketing about our Service, features and offers, which you can opt out of (see Section 5);
analyze, improve and develop our products and services;
comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect our rights and the rights of others;
create aggregated or de-identified information, which we may use and share for any lawful purpose; and
for any other purpose we describe to you when we collect the information, or with your consent.
- How we share information
We share personal information as follows:
With other users. Your public profile, listings, ratings, reviews and activity statistics (such as number of transactions and response time) are visible to others. When you book or accept a rental, we share the contact and location details needed to complete it.
Within our group. We share information with Hygglo AB and other companies in our corporate group for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
With service providers. We share information with companies that perform services for us, such as payment processing (Stripe), hosting, identity verification, customer support, communications, analytics, error monitoring and marketing.
With insurance and guarantee partners, to assess and handle claims.
With advertising and analytics partners, through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
For legal and safety reasons. We share information where we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to requests from authorities, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property or safety of Hygglo, our users or others.
In business transfers. We may disclose and transfer personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business or assets (including the Service, our U.S. operations or user accounts), or in a bankruptcy, insolvency or receivership. This may include disclosure to the other party and its advisers during due diligence. Any acquirer or successor may continue to use your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
With your consent or at your direction.
Other than in a business transfer described above, we do not sell your personal information for money.
- Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, software development kits and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, understand usage, measure performance and show you relevant advertising on other sites and apps. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. Where required by applicable law, we treat recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for the browser or device sending the signal.
- Your choices
Account information: you can review and update most of it in your profile.
Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link or change your preferences in your profile.
Text messages: reply STOP or email info@hygglo.com. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Push notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
Account deletion: you can ask us to delete your account at any time (see Section 7 for what we may keep).
- U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, and where those laws apply to us, you may have the right to:
know about and access the personal information we hold about you;
correct it;
delete it;
receive a portable copy; and
opt out of targeted advertising, the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and certain profiling.
Some state laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly enough to include certain advertising cookies; you can opt out as described in Section 4. To make a request, email info@hygglo.com. We will need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
- Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and afterwards for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, including to complete transactions, resolve disputes and claims, prevent fraud, enforce our agreements and comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations. Identity verification documents are kept while you have an account and deleted after the account is closed, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.
Biometric data. If you take a photo of yourself during identity verification, our verification provider may use facial recognition technology to compare it with your ID. Any resulting biometric data is used only for identity verification and fraud prevention, and is collected with your consent where required by law. We do not sell, lease or trade biometric data. We permanently destroy it when you close your account or no later than three years after you last logged in to or used the Service, whichever comes first, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- International processing
We are part of a group headquartered in Sweden. Your personal information may be stored and processed in the United States, Sweden, other countries in the European Union, the United Kingdom and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
- Children
The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
- Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services, such as Stripe or social login providers. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. Where a change materially affects how we use personal information we already hold, we will obtain your consent where required by law. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
