I always use them so the silver carabiner is on the bolt or gear (metal to metal) and the coloured (blue or red) carabiner is on the rope. This stops any sharp edges forming on the carabiner that the rope runs over. Please inspect all climbing gear before use and don't store these around anything sharp. Obviously you use these at your own risk but feel free to ask questions if you are new to outdoor climbing and need some help. I can throw in a lovely red helmet for free if you need it.

Mhairi was so helpful, very quick to answer messages and very flexible. Only downside is she is in Thornlie now and you really have to have a car to be able to pick up and return the items.

Mhairi was quick to respond making organising picking up and returning the mat very straightforward. My only gripe is the quality of the mat which is described as "highball" - I would not trust it for highballs, it is thin and quite small. Additionally, the straps don't stay on properly which is annoying.
