FULL-RANGE SOUND, NO SUBWOOFER NEEDED The two Mackie SR1530 active speakers are proper 3-way systems, not the basic 2-way boxes most hire PA's get lumped with. Each cabinet houses a 15" woofer, a 6" midrange driver, and a 1" titanium-diaphragm tweeter, all individually powered by dedicated onboard amplifiers (300W low, 100W mid, 100W high — 500W per cabinet). That 3-way design is what lets these speakers reach down to 45Hz on their own, giving you a full, warm low end alongside a crisp, clear top end without needing a subwoofer cluttering up the space or an extra cable run. With a combined max SPL of over 123dB per cabinet, this pair delivers serious, room-filling volume with headroom to spare — plenty for anything from an intimate speech to a lively dance floor. Built on a multi-layered plywood cabinet with a rugged perforated steel grille, these are proper touring-grade boxes designed for repeated setup and teardown, not flimsy consumer speakers — so you get consistent, reliable sound every time. A MIXER THAT PUNCHES WAY ABOVE ITS SIZE Driving the speakers is a Soundcraft Ui12, a 12-channel digital mixer that packs studio-quality processing into a compact rack-mountable unit. Connectivity includes 4 XLR combo mic/line inputs, 4 additional XLR mic inputs, 2 Hi-Z instrument inputs for guitar or bass, and a stereo RCA input for background music or a playlist — enough inputs for a full band, a DJ, or a speaker with a lapel mic, and everything in between. Every channel gets 4-band parametric EQ, a high-pass filter, compressor, de-esser, and noise gate, and the master outputs add a 31-band graphic EQ with their own compressor and gate — the same Harman-family processing (dbx, DigiTech, and Lexicon) found in much larger consoles. Four built-in Lexicon effects engines provide reverb, delay, room and chorus, so vocals and instruments sit beautifully in the mix without any outboard gear. What really sets the Ui12 apart for hire is its wireless control: the mixer has no physical fader surface, and is instead controlled entirely over its built-in Wi-Fi via an app on your phone, tablet, or laptop (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux are all supported). Up to 10 people can connect and control the mix simultaneously, which means your sound engineer, band members, and speakers can each adjust their own monitor or level from their own device, from anywhere in the room. A built-in USB media player also lets you play MP3/WAV/AIFF playlists directly through the mixer without any extra equipment.
