Macbook Pro 15.4" with 2.7Ghz quad core Processor, 16GB RAM, 1650x1050 Hi-Res screen and 1TB Hard drive. The last, best non retina model, has USB3 and thunderbolt, while still also having Firewire 800, Ethernet, CD/DVD Drive, and separate minijack audio in/outs. 

By default, comes with the latest OS X version, but can also have hard drive swapped out for your own, or several older OS versions if needed for legacy software.
