Description
Owned since new, a beautifully hand-built guitar from Yamaha's Custom Shop in Japan. Has a super-thin satin-finished neck, it's a delight to play. But it's the crystal-clear sound of this guitar that really makes it stand out. It's hard to find a guitar that plays and sounds this good for anything under £1000 - but this one does, and it can rival the depth and clarity of anything above that price-mark. It's also the exactly the same model that Gaz Coombes (Supergrass & solo) turns to as his main acoustic. I have no claims to Gaz Coombes' heady heights, but this has been my favourite acoustic ever since I bought it. Headstock, hardware, fretboard, neck & body in very good condition for age, with the exception of a set of "wear & tear" nicks & dents on the body top. None of which affects how this guitar plays & sounds. A lot of work has gone into making this guitar look very special, and a lot of work into making it sound very special. Work which has definitely paid off. Do a blind sound test against a higher priced brand - chances are, you'll pick the LA-8.
