Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone - the workhorse on-camera and boom mic for documentary, interviews and run-and-gun. Strong directivity, so it picks up what the camera is pointed at and rejects noise from the sides and rear. Runs on 48V phantom power from your camera or mixer, or on a single AA battery if your camera doesn't supply phantom - with an on/off switch and a Low Batt indicator.
