Description
Just like the one you see Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong playing, a vintage classic. The Junior was first introduced in 1956, as a stripped-down version of the Les Paul Standard. Originally targeted at the entry-level/student market, now one of the finest examples of Gibson quality from the 1950s. No binding, no ornate inlays, uncarved single-piece mahogany body, one pick-up, one volume knob, one tone knob, classic two-tone sunburst. There's a benefit to simplicity. You don't have to spend time switching between pick-ups, fiddling around with controls. Just tune up, plug in, crank up, and play. And it plays and sounds fantastic. The P-90 absolutely sings, with no loss of output over all these years. Not a reissue! This is a genuine Gibson Les Paul Junior made in 1956. Which helps explain the hire price. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Iain was incredibly helpful, polite and enthusiastic, and even provided an extra bag of useful tools, including a clip-on tuner. The 1972 Fender Precision Bass and amp were in pristine condition, sounded incredible and genuinely elevated our rehearsal session.
